I like Sunday mornings
For they are quiet and calm
as we prepare to leave for Church.
We dress in clean, respectful clothing
And prepare our minds
and our spirits
For entering the chapel,
Taking our seats
And waiting for the Sacrament.

Pacific Musings
By the sea again
On a coolish, mostly cloudy
afternoon
In late August.
But now the sun has won its
foray
For a moment
Maybe.
It warms my face and arms;
Feels good
As things ought to be.
My Savior is the sun to my soul.
Warming it against the cool touch
Of indifference and lassitude;
Telling me, once more
That goodness
Will surely and suddenly prevail.
And as I write,
the sullen gray surf
Continues to break
Its small waves against the sand,
First foaming, then fleeing
Over and over again.
The ocean that I love so
Never stops caressing the shore,
As Jesus never stops loving me.
